5 things that belong in a car wash set

The perfect car wash starts with the selection of accessories!

With this in mind, we would like to list in this article the necessary accessories for optimal (and therefore gentle) car washing and explain why these products are an absolute must in your care range!

  1. The wash bucket
A wash bucket is absolutely necessary for the classic hand wash. The special thing about buckets specially made for vehicle care enthusiasts is the detail: The bucket contains a dirt sieve (in English "Grit Guard"). This sieve prevents dirt that has collected at the bottom of the bucket from being whirled up and landing back on the paintwork. This is where the dirt particles act like greaseproof paper and the unpopular fine wipe scratches are created.

  2. The pH-neutral car shampoo with gliding effect
We have already discussed in detail in the "7 deadly sins of car washing" why car shampoos have their right to exist and why it is absolutely necessary to avoid household products such as dishwashers. When choosing a shampoo it is important to make sure that it is pH-neutral so that applied sealants are not attacked. Furthermore, the car shampoo should develop a clearly noticeable lubricating film. This prevents dirt particles from causing scratches under the pressure of the washing glove. In addition, a good shampoo should have an excellent cleaning effect. Actually logical, but certainly not self-evident!

  3. The acid-free rim cleaner with colour change
When it comes to rim cleaners, opinions differ. Depending on surface finish and material, the wrong cleaner can cause considerable damage. It is therefore advisable to ensure that the rim cleaner is also pH-neutral and as free of acids as possible. A colour indicator that shows the optimum application time is practical.

  4. The microfibre washing glove
Gone are the days when natural sponges were used for car care. Even though they feel soft and foam well, there is one obvious disadvantage: The dirt collects through the many channels and is rinsed out when pressed against the paint surface. There it causes scratches and thus damages the paint. That is why we recommend a microfibre sponge or even better: microfibre gloves. This glove fits tightly and grips the hand, but can also be used like a sponge. Due to the long fibres, dirt is carried to the inside and is "safely" stored there before it is rinsed out in the washing bucket. This reduces the risk of wipe scratches to almost 0!

  5. The drying cloth
For a long time, car lovers relied on the "leather" for vehicle drying, which eventually also became part of everyday language ("leather"). Nowadays, however, there are drying cloths made of microfibre that put all leather cloths in the shade. The reason is not only the increased absorbency, but also the quicker application and the not to be forgotten fact that microfibre cloths can be washed much better. The classic leather becomes increasingly dirty and can hardly be used gently after a few years of service.

If you trust these products, nothing stands in the way of a paint-friendly, fast and effective car wash. Even if you are new to car care!
