3 simple rules for hygienically cleaning touch displays

You surely know this if your vehicle also has a modern touch display: The increased functionality is on the one hand contemporary and comfortable, but also has its disadvantages, such as

• Fingerprints and dirty residue on the display
• the display makes an unsightly and unkempt impression
• the display is a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses
• when exposed to sunlight, the residues reflect and worsen the operation
• the operation feels "greasy" with time

Rule 1: Use special display cleaner instead of conventional glass cleaner

In contrast to glass panels, displays are exposed to other influences. While the windshield has to withstand various environmental influences, such as bird droppings, insects, industrial deposits, salt, etc., displays in the interior are confronted with skin grease, creams or other oily residues, e.g. food eaten by the driver. As we put our hands in our faces several hundred times a day, they are carriers of bacteria and viruses, which in turn can settle on the display and survive there for some time. The display cleaner must therefore be much more special and hygienic than a classic glass cleaner.

Rule 2: Do not use handkerchiefs for cleaning 

When cleaning displays, it is not only the cleaner that matters, but also what type of cloth you use. The cloth is not only the cleaning carrier, it should in the best case increase (or activate) the effect of the cleaner and guarantee a residue-free cleaning.
However, the choice of cloth is crucial. If you use a cloth that is too rough or too dirty, micro-fine scratches can occur, which can lead to irreparable damage to the display. Cotton cloths like Zewa or handkerchiefs are not suitable for cleaning displays.

Rule 3: Use specially developed cleaning cloths
For gentle cleaning, a short-pile microfiber cloth, often sold under the name "glass cleaning cloth", can be used. However, our carbon fibre glass cloth offers the optimum solution. Why?
